The term is also used <a title=\"Metaphor\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Metaphor\">metaphorically<\/a> to describe selfless good deeds for others or a short term loss in return for a greater gain, <a title=\"Sacrifice (chess)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sacrifice_%28chess%29\">such as in a game of chess<\/a>.
