yesterday, i decided i couldn’t stand looking at this chair anymore, this pic is after i already ripped the seat off, and started the redo

THE BEFORE:

so i went over to joann’s and found a piece of material, and spray painted the chair with black satin, a can i already had, so total cost $3.00!

THE AFTER:

i am pretty spontaneous with my makeovers, that is one thing i like about living about 3 blocks from a store…. i can run to- when the spirit moves me!!! here is the finished product, along with this… a stool, since i had enough material for both!

mike says, you’re going to paint this wood??? like it was something you shouldn’t do! it was either that, or the chair was going in the garbage:)
i could totally get into buying junk at goodwill and giving it new life and having a little shop to sell it in:)

  1. everytime a piece of painted furniture (usually white)…would come thru the auction at Earl’s…
Earl sr. would make a dramatic pause for about 30 seconds…and draw a big breath and say…”you leave the house for 1 dang minute and when you come back, everything’s painted white. (dramatic pause, with disgusted look toward, June, his wife). Folks, it’s still Oak (or maple, or walnut…etc).”

Guess Mike and Earl would see eye to eye!

I still need to come over for my spray painting lesson! I’ve wrecked to many things!

  2. i know exactly what mike and earl are thinking:) and i often wonder if the next generation will want to strip what we painted!?!?! they’ll probably just buy ikea:)
