the kids had the chickens in the yard and were playing with them 6 at a time, 3 different sets, 18 in all! boy there are going to be lots of eggs! here they are having fun
makes me so happy to see these kids loving animals and living the good life in the country:) notice georgia in the back ground… i had macy and maggs tied up, wasn’t sure what they would do… and didn’t want to find out!
these 2 they are not sure of? whether they will lay eggs or be meat!
the kids are getting a good education, tammy has them knowing all the names and how to hold them correctly, here is levi showing how
and of course the mama that is in charge of the chick recess!
emma helped make tacos while the little kids napped and the big kids worked:)
we did throw a game in there for evia’s t=ball in the morning, but i didn’t get any pics… i worked the concession stand with emma! wow busy couple of days….full of fun
Becki and I just did a chick swap. Those were two of her Cornish Cross and she had my Delawares!
you called that one right:) are the delawares the ones that are redish
Delaware hens are mostly white with some black/barred in the tail, wing tips, and neck. So far, they’re just white, but they’re the same size as all the others we have. I told her the two I had were just not excited about life, and she laughed and said, “yep, that’s a meat bird!”
